Grinding Services – Cylindrical Grinding
in Various Contours

What is grinding?

In grinding, we specialize in meeting strict geometry and roundness requirements, even for particularly large workpieces. Our expertise includes grinding complex contours, including curves (concave, convex, and special curves) and tapers. One feature of our capabilities is the ability to grind at temperatures of up to 240°C.

We use water or oil as a cooling medium. Thanks to modern CNC technology and specially equipped grinding machines, we can respond precisely to the specific needs of our customers.

Customized material treatment can be crucial for product quality and performance, especially for products that require machining at high temperatures. hhpm by Breitenbach employs advanced grinding techniques and technologies to deliver highly precise results.

We offer solutions for grinding nearly any contour. Even under the most demanding conditions, we ensure compliance with the specified requirements.

Grinding Machine M62

The M62 from Waldrich is a powerful large roll grinding machine, model WS III CPT 75Ɨ15000/15500. At hhpm by Breitenbach, this machine allows us not only to grind rolls but also to machine workpieces with mounted bearing units and to precisely grind internally supported tubes. This further enhances roundness precision.

Features of the M62:

  • Machining range up to 2,500 mm in diameter and 15,500 mm in length
  • Capability to machine workpieces weighing up to 75 tons

All of this makes the M62 an indispensable machine for a wide range of grinding operations.

Grinding Benches M63 and M64

The M63 and M64 from Waldrich are roll grinding machines at hhpm by Breitenbach. They enable the achievement of high-quality surface finishes. A key feature of these machines is the tangentially adjustable grinding wheel, which allows for precise and fine surface machining.

Features of the M63 and M64 (Model WS V CD BKH 6 x 5000):

  • Machining range up to 800 mm in diameter and 6,000 mm in length
  • Capability to machine workpieces weighing up to 6 tons

These technical features make it possible to achieve exceptionally high-quality surfaces, making the M63 and M64 particularly valuable for grinding operations with demanding surface finish requirements.

Grinding Machine M33

The M33, a Herkules WS 400 model, delivers high-quality results. Its CNC control ensures precise machining of the workpiece along its entire length. Achieving uniform surfaces and meeting required specifications is no problem for this machine.

Features of the M33:

  • Machining range up to 750 mm in diameter and 5,000 mm in length
  • Capability to machine workpieces weighing up to 6 tons

These features make the M33 the ideal choice when accuracy and high surface quality are required.

We support you with our manufacturing capabilities for large, cylindrical components.

FAQ

What is grinding?

Grinding is a material-removal manufacturing process used to machine workpieces, in which material is removed using abrasive tools to achieve a desired shape and surface quality. It is primarily employed to attain high dimensional and geometric accuracy as well as fine surface finishes.

What is contract grinding?

Contract grinding is a service process in which specialized companies, such as hhpm by Breitenbach, perform grinding operations on behalf of clients who are unable or prefer not to carry out this machining themselves. This service is used to process workpieces with high precision and specified surface qualities.

Which materials can we grind?

At hhpm by Breitenbach, we can grind especially large, rotationally symmetrical components made of cast and forged materials, as well as coatings of all kinds. Thanks to state-of-the-art CNC technology and specialized grinding machines, we are able to machine both simple and complex geometries with high precision.

Why is high precision important in grinding?

High precision in grinding is important to ensure accurate dimensional and geometric tolerances, as well as first-class surface quality, which are crucial for the functionality and service life of the workpieces. This is particularly significant in industries such as mechanical engineering and the automotive sector, where components are often subjected to high loads and strict specifications.

What is pre-grinding?

Pre-grinding is the process in which a small amount of material is removed from the surface of a workpiece to create a uniform, clean, and contamination-free surface. This is often a preparatory step to improve the adhesion of coatings or adhesives or to eliminate minor surface irregularities.
