Machining large, rotationally symmetrical components presents different challenges depending on the material. Breitenbach draws on over 150 years of experience and provides solutions for turning every type of material. Thanks to our expertise, machining difficult-to-cut materials is easily achievable. Surface roughness, roundness accuracy, and cylindrical shapes can be realized with micrometer-level precision using our specialized knowledge.

Rough turning is the first machining operation in the workpiece manufacturing process. Its primary purpose is to remove the hard forged or cast surface layer, enabling large volumes of material to be removed in a short time. Thanks to their robust design, state-of-the-art CNC control technology, and powerful 16,000 kW drive systems, our rough turning lathes deliver exceptional metal removal rates and outstanding process reliability — even when machining large workpieces and demanding materials. Precise Surface Machining with Finish Turning

Whether partial or complete machining, we manufacture rotationally symmetrical components with precision and efficiency using turning, cylindrical grinding, and milling—all from a single source. Upon request, we also machine customer-supplied blanks or pre-machined workpieces, providing a flexible, cost-effective solution tailored precisely to your requirements.
Material wear is unfortunately unavoidable. However, rollers, large shafts, or turbine rotors do not necessarily need to be replaced with new components.
